Israeli School in Haiti

Even though the rescue team of the Israeli army has left Haiti meanwhile, is Israel still active in the reconstruction of this Caribbean country after the devastating earthquake. Now, an Israeli delegation has established a temporary school in the capital Port-au-Prince.
Some 800 children are expected in the school, which is located in a huge tent and has been arranged by Israel in coordination with the governments of Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
The moment they heard about the new school, a lot of children started to search for furniture and educational material in the ruins. Amongst other things, they found blackboards and schoolbooks.
The Israeli delegation is supposed to stay in Haiti for half a year.
