Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

A letter to Evelyn
Hi Evelyn :) I just would like to say thank you for creating the peacecamp. This experience has changed my life a year ago and this year also. It made me possible to feel that there can be moments in life when nothing can make you sad and you can feel that you are in 100% safe and you don't have problems. These are the moments which give me hope and these moments are just because of peacecamp and you, because you made it possible. I wish there were more people like you who do something to make this world better, because you do. I think you don't know how many people love you and how many people are grateful because of the experience you gave them. Seriously it has changed my life. Thank you very much for letting me participate. I will never forget peacecamp. And I'm waiting for a reunion :) Because i think this is really true if you are a peacecamper once, you always will be. It keeps going on.
I hope we can meet you again:)
Thank you.
xxx (peacecamp 2009)

Franziska Simonsen, Birth Date 7.1.1994

Akademisches Gymnasium Vienna
1. Imagine - what does the word peace mean to you?

Peace for me is everyone tries to be nice to any people even if they do not know them or do not understand their way of acting. To have NO PREJUDCES and to “fight” without violence.

2. Imagine - what are the main obstacles to peace in our world?

I think it is mostly because of prejudices, the misunderstanding between different cultures and a different lifestyle.
It is also the suffering in some countries, the hunger and the anger at other (more wealthy) parts of the world.
Often it is the different religion too, fighting for their opinion with violence.

3. Imagine - what have you done so far to promote peace in your own country?

I am kind of a member of the rotary club in Austria and they do have programs to promote peace for which I was working.

4. Imagine - what can you do in the future to promote peace in your own country?

I can keep speaking about problems to solve them or things that happened in our country to show other countries my respect and VISITING THE PEACECAMP 2010.

NORA LISSAK , Birth Date 08.09.1993.

SZENTENDREI FERENCES GIMNÁZIUM
1. Imagine - what does the word peace mean to you?

Usually we hear that question in The Miss World Contest. I think the world peace is when the countries aren’t in war.

2. Imagine - what are the main obstacles to peace in our world?

Everybody sees his/her own interest instead they see the other person’s interests. Iraq and America can’t agree. The main obstacle as I think is that there are wars and the warriors cannot agree, because they all see their own interests and can’t reach a compromise.

3. Imagine - what have you done so far to promote peace in your own country?

So as I am just sixteen years old, I haven’t got a vote. Voting for the good party we can get nearer to world peace. Unfortunately I have nothing in my hand with which I can promote world peace.

4. Imagine - what can you do in the future to promote peace in your own country?

In the future if I can get a vote, I will vote. I will try to behave in a way that people around me will have peace. This way there will less place to make peace.

SZENT LÁSZLÓ GIMNÁZIUM
1. Imagine - what does the word peace mean to you?

I think world peace means -what else- peace in the world. It has two readings. The first is when there' s no wars between the countrys of the world. The second is the smaller peace, between the people of the world.

2. Imagine - what are the main obstacles to peace in our world?

Albert Einstein once said : “So long as there are men there will be wars”, and I totally agree with it. There 'll always be someone who 'll want more than he 's given to.

3. Imagine - what have you done so far to promote peace in your own country?

I haven 't fought for anything (mainly not for peace – what a paradox). I haven 't done anything against someone else. I'm trying to convince people around me to live a peaceful life.

4. Imagine - what can you do in the future to promote peace in your own country?

The only way is to convince everyone. I can help in it.

KEMECSEI VIRÁG, Birth Date 1994.09.14

Szent László Gimnázium
1. Imagine - what does the word peace mean to you?

If I hear the word “peace”, I get the impression of lot of different people being together, understanding each other’s cultures. And the most important thing: they shouldn’t fight with each other.

2. Imagine - what are the main obstacles to peace in our world?

I think some people’s greed and pride are the greatest obstacles. They only want themselves to be happy and rich, while they don’t care about other people’s feelings and lives. They do whatever they want no matter what the price is.

3. Imagine - what have you done so far to promote peace in your own country?

I’m not sure if it counts, but I’ve taken part in a lot of peace-related events (for example charity concerts). But this topic has always interested me, so I would like to take part in more occasions like that.

4. Imagine - what can you do in the future to promote peace in your own country?

Hungarian people are not very open-minded in general, so promoting peace to them is hard. But maybe there should be more programs that make them understand the idea.
